Southern Sunset Simplicity

Happy Friday everyone! I can't believe we have only three more days until Christmas. I'm looking forward to receiving all of my family and friends Christmas gifts in the mail today. I purchased a few essential gifts a couple of weeks ago, but the items I'm expecting today are the "important" gifts!:)

Southern, sunset, simplicity...I just had to use alliterations to describe this dress. At first, I was a little skeptical about this dress because even though it's an extra small the fit was really loose and unflattering on my frame. To make this dress fit my body shape, I decided to wear one of my wide waist belts to cinch in the waist. I think it did the trick!:) I put my cognac booties with this dress, which gives the outfit an almost western vibe. My overall favorite part about this dress is the colorful embroidery that compliments the burnt orange tone of the dress.

Today's bible verse comes from Romans 12:9, "Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good."

Stay Blessed,

Cold Shoulder Cream Sweater

Sweater (mine are sold out) // Jeans (mine are from the thrift Store) // Booties // Bag (mine is vintage)

It felt so good to wake up and not have anywhere to go this morning. I love getting up and teaching everyday, but all my fellow teachers can attest that we need a couple of weeks to recuperate from the busyness of being a teacher.

Now to this outfit, for the past couple of years, I was completely opposed to the idea of wearing a sweater with my shoulders out. I could never find a cold shoulder sweater that complimented by shoulders, so I just deemed the style as ridiculous. But, then I found this cold shoulder sweater at TJ Maxx for only $14.99. I fell completely in love with the thickness and durable material that I purchased it right away. My cognac booties were $9 at Gabes and my Dooney & Burke bag along with my American Eagle denims were purchased at a local thrift store for less than $25. My total outfit cost less than $55.

Today's bible verse comes from Isaiah 43:2, "When thou passest through the waters, I will be with
thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee." Whatever you do, do it with the Lord directing your path. He will protect you according to His will.

Stay Blessed,

Altar'd State Embroidered Dress

Embroidery Dress // Booties // Bag (mines an older version)
Happy Wednesday! I hope you had a wonderful day filled with many accomplishments. For today's post, I am wearing a baby doll embroidered dress that I purchased along with another embroidered dress from Altar'd State about two weeks ago. I love the lace details on the shoulders of this dress along with the simplicity of the overall look. I paired this dress with my Express booties (purchased from Gabes for $9:) and my Coach copper-colored saddlebag. This dress can be worn for so many different occasions like date night, church, or even work.

Today's bible verse comes from 1John 3:18, "My little children, let us not love in word, neither with the tongue; but in deed and truth."

Stay Blessed,
xoxo

Pink and Plaid

Dress // Scarf // Heels // Bag (green sold out)
Hey everyone! I hope everyone has had a great week so far. Today is the day before Christmas break begins, so I couldn't be anymore excited! Most of you probably don't know, but this is my official first year as an ELA teacher. I was a substitute teacher and a graduate student for two years after I graduated from college, so I was already used to being extra busy. So far, my first year has been awesome (except for the mental exhaustion from juggling grad. school work with lesson plans). Next semester I have only one more course until I officially have my masters degree, which means more time to blog after work (yayyy)!

Now to this outfit. This season, I have fallen in love with bright colors mixed with plaid. My best friend brought me this plaid scarf last year and the block heels were purchased at the beginning of the school year for work. The only new item I'm wearing is my bold pink dress. When I first saw this dress, I just knew I had to have it. It's affordable, it fits well, and it's pink!:)

Just like in all my past blog post, I like to leave you with a bible verse that I've come across or that's been on my mind lately. Today's bible verse comes from Isaiah 32:17, "The work of righteousness will be peace, And the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever."

Stay Blessed,
xoxo

Denim and Keds + A Testimony

I pray that everyone had an awesome week and is ready for a spectacular weekend. My week actually went by so fast. It consisted of running errands non-stop while having a little Friday night fun celebrating my aunts birthday. Aside from all this I've been feeling "off" because I haven't been as active in my prayer and scripture time as I usually am. For example, I wake up. Say this quick robotic prayer as if that's enough to show my appreciation for all that my heavenly father has blessed me with, and at the end of the day, right before I get into bed, I say another quick robotic prayer as if that's enough. When we as Christian's fall behind in our walk with Christ, we have a hard time finding our way back. It almost becomes a bad habit.

Since this has been heavily on my heart these past weeks, the Lord directed me to focus on Romans 12:2 "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
This all leads to one will and that is the will of God. The will of God is good, acceptable, and perfect".

Our actions must match the will of God and not be of this world. The deeper our walk with Christ becomes the better we as children of God will be able to discern the will of God. When we are lukewarm, one foot in, one foot out of this world, I don't believe that power to discern God's will is fully there. It's so easy to get caught up in the world, but when we as God's children feel that tug on our hearts, I believe that it is God giving us a nudge to come back and renew ourselves because that is the will of God. God doesn't represent evil, so He doesn't have a grudge towards his children who have fallen. That's another reason why God sent His son, Jesus Christ, to walk this Earth. We needed to see how to love and live a life where we know how to repent for our sins.

With all this being said, God is not angry with us when we don't give our all to him, but we can't expect to live a life of peace when our hearts aren't in line with Christ.
Now to my denim and keds:) My denim skirt is actually Topshop's Moto petite denim skirt and I'm wearing a size 25. Since they have sold out in this skirt, I included another brand with a very similar look. My tee was like $4, and my Keds are my favorite of favorites because they have mini daisy like designs all over them!:)

Stay Blessed,
xoxo Tatiana

Maxi Romper

When I first saw the romper maxis, I fell in love. I know they aren't everyones cup of tea, but I love the fact that my butt isn't being hugged in a romper for everyone to see. The maxi lining in the back gives a more modest look without looking too covered up in the summertime.

Elegantly Draped Dress

White Floral Dress // Nude Block Heels // Straw Hat // Bracelet

Happy Friday beauties! I hope everyone has had a great week so far. I don't know about you, but this week is flying by so fast. I can barely remember Monday. Tuesday I had fun at Olive Garden and downtown with a group of my girlfriends. Wednesday I worked non-stop with family stuff. Yesterday, I helped my aunt with family reunion stuff for this weekends masquerade party. And today is the meet and greet at the Embassy Suites for our family that is coming in from Tampa, Florida!:) I'll fill you in more with how the events for the family reunion goes!;)

Now, to this outfit. Right now, this dress is my favorite. I've worn it for so many occasions in the short time that I've purchased it. Even though it is a maxi dress, it's only lined to my mid thigh. This allows the dress to be cool enough to wear on the most hottest days. I paired this dress with my Altar'd State nude sandal heels, my boat hat, and delicate gold jewelry pieces. These shoes are also my go to heels for this summer. Even though they are higher than 4 inches, they are still super comfortable and easy to walk in.

I hope everyone has a beautiful weekend filled with many happy memories! Before you go, I would like to leave you with a bible verse that has been on my mind a lot lately. We live in a society where it's so easy to get caught up in what everyone else is doing and how they are living that we forget that God has set you apart for a very important reason.

Romans 12:2 "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Stay Blessed,
xoxo Tatiana;)
