Baby It's Cold Outside

This is such a funny thing- I hate being cold, but I am loving this weather! This weather makes me want to drink hot green tea all day while curled up reading an awesome novel. But, since that won't be happening anytime soon, I can wear super cute outfits to keep me warm when I'm out and about. 

This sweater is actually a top/ tunic, but since I'm only 5.25" I'm wearing it as a dress. My fur scarf is actually from Target and I bought it about three years ago for less than $20. I purchased the tan over the knee boots because I had been looking for a decent pair of tan boots that fit my calves. These aren't the best quality of boots. They are so hard to walk in and they wouldn't stay up my legs, but for the price I couldn't complain too much. 

Psalms 37:4 "Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart". This bible verse has been heavy on my heart. As I was reflecting on 2017 and reading my journal from that year, I found a list of desires that I wanted God to bless me with for the year. All of the blessings were given except for two. I remember those blessings coming one by one as if I had done something to deserve those blessings. I remember going through a dry season where if felt like none of my prayers were being answered, but after reflecting I realize God was and is praying me for every blessing He has coming my way. The desires of my heart are not being ignored nor am I being punished for not being "enough". I hope you read this testimony with understanding and assurance that the desires of your heart are being heard by our God.

Plaid Poncho and the Perfect Black Dress

I hope everyone is having a great day. Today marks day two of eating collard greens, black-eyed peas, macaroni and cheese, and apple pie for dessert. We have ham and fried chicken too, but I don't eat meat as of yesterday!:)

I'm feeling very grown-up in this outfit! I love the versatility of this form fitting black body con dress. It can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. Also, it's a very practical piece to have in any lady's closet. I simply threw on one of my multi-colored shawls to transition the outfit to be more modest. My black  pumps add a more polished look and my brown-mustard bag adds a pop of sunshine to the total look.

Hebrew 13:5 "Be ye free from the love of money; content with such things as ye have: for himself hath said, I will in no wise fail thee, neither will I in any wise forsake thee.".

Happy New Year + Shearling Vest with Blush

Happy New Year everyone! I'm so excited for what 2018 has in store for all of us. I'm looking forward to gaining so many accomplishes and traveling to new places with family and friends.
Overall and most importantly, my New Year resolution is to improve my overall character.

2017 was a year where unthinkable acts were happening left and right. God blessed me when I thought there was no hope. Every month I was being placed out of my comfort zone, which only prepared me for the next step. I learned how to multi-task like no other. God gave me the strength and knowledge to be able to work as a full-time ELA teacher while completing a full semester of graduate courses with a 4.0 GPA.

While I reflect, I understand that 2017 was a year of learning and preparation for the plans that God has for me in 2018. For 2018, I already know that God has many marvelous adventures in store for me that go way beyond what I can imagine.

Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
