Floral Marigold Dress










Hello gorgeous! I absolutely love this dress and the color, but I have to tell you the pros and cons of wearing it. So, first off this is the dress you wear for all occasion (except for a wedding or formal setting) You can wear it on a date, out with the girls, or to church (with leggings for a more modest look of course:)! I love how this marigold shift dress appeals to just about everyone's skin tone. Now to the downfall of this dress. When I originally purchased this dress and tried it on; it stopped an inch above my knee. When I took it home and hand-washed it, I noticed that it shrunk tremendously after it dried. I wore this dress when I was out-and-about downtown Greenville, but I pair this dress with leggings for work. I love how I can layer this dress with a scarf, leggings, and peep-toe booties for a more boho chic look;)

Today's bible verse comes from Romans 12:17-18 "Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as lies in you, live peaceably with all men."

The Most Flattering Blouse

Happy Memorial Day everyone! Thank you to all the men and women who have served and who are currently serving. I hope you all are having fun with family and friends on your day off. I was in Charleston for a few days with two of my close friends. During our stay we went on a boat ride, had lots of retail therapy at the Market and on King Street, and ate the best meals :) Also, I can't leave out the much needed girl time we had that left us laughing throughout the whole trip. We even surprised my grandmother at church who lives in Charleston.

Even though I love going out of town, there is nothing like being home and sleeping in your own bed. The outfit worn above was put together for a photo shoot taken by Ced's Photography. Ced and his wife have a up-and-coming photography business in the Upstate of South Carolina. The theme for this photo shoot was "Woman on the Move". I feel like the theme represented me very well because I'm always on the go. I was in graduate school full-time, teaching full-time, and trying to not neglect my family and friends during the process.

Of course I have to leave you with a scripture that's been on my heart. Being still and allowing God to conduct this journey that I'm on has been a challenge. It's our human nature that causes us to desire to go ahead of what God has called us to be, but to be obedient we have to operate accordingly. I know this may sound vague or confusing to some people, but there is someone reading this overcoming the same obstacles. The desires in your heart that are aligned with the word of God were placed in your heart for a reason :)

Philippians 4:11-13
 "I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I can do all this through him who gives me strength. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want."
